DINNER TICKETS SOLD OUT, 1PM LUNCH TICKETS ADDED
Join Dave Odd, full time professional forager to the stars, on a 2 hour journey through the neighborhood to discover over 50 species of edible and medicinal wild plants and mushrooms that grow right in our own backyards. Is it even possible to find 50 edible/medicinal plants in the concrete jungle of the West Loop? Come and find out!
Followed by an amazing 3 course underground pop-up dinner with guerilla Pop-Up Chef Douglas Yee in his West Loop “Urban Hang Suite” at Washington & Halsted in Chicago’s West Loop later on in the evening at 6:00pm (so you basically have 5 hours to explore the city between the tour and dinner). The meal, of course, will heavily feature many of the plants seen on the tour and other locally foraged ingredients such as ramps. Dinner tickets sold out, 1pm lunch tickets added (same meal).
Douglas Yee has been cooking for two decades at pop-up restaurants, events, and dinner parties in Chicago. His cooking skews Japanese with Italian influences, and is always designed to showcase the seasons as well as quality local ingredients. Last year he came on an Eat the Neighborhood foraging tour and liked it so much he decided he wanted to team up with Dave for a series of these events. See Doug’s IG here.
Meet right at the southeast corner of Washington & Halsted across from the Bank of America. 31 N Halsted Ave, Chicago.
$40 per person for the tour. $30 for the meal, $40 with pairings. Limited space available!
